November 23, 2019 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Greetings! In order to gain exposure within Rochester and show the community what the SCA, and our beloved Barony of Thescorre, are all about, we will be participating the the Rochester Maker’s Fair on Saturday, November 23rd, from 9am-5pm. As a group, we have several passes into this marvelous event. These passes MUST be used by individuals who are going to spend at least 4 hours at the booth interacting with the event guests. We will be discussing the items we create, the experiences we make, and the events we enjoy. These guest interactions can be allowing the guests of our booth to create an item that they can take away from visiting with us or giving them the chance to touch and interact with elements of our lives within the SCA (a garment or armor petting zoo, a scribal workshop, a bookbinding class, a discussion about cooking within the SCA, and so much more). At present, we have 4 passes remaining for members of our Barony to come and attend, but again if you will be using one of those passes, you MUST be coming to spend at least 4 hours at the table. If you would like to commit to running any sort of demo (martial or gentler arts) and/or would love the opportunity to engage with the larger community about the SCA and all the wonderful things we offer. If you would like to attend this event, we highly encourage you to dress in garb and help us interact with the populous at large! Advanced Tickets may be purchased through this site: https://www.eventbrite.
com/e/maker-faire-rochester- 2019-tickets-66705224121 and tickets at the door will be $12.I will be sending out additional information about the ability for us to do a fighting/fencing demo in the space as well as the ability for us to ask guests for material fees. I am not yet clear on those two rules and will update as soon as possible! If you would like to participate at the Rochester Maker’s Faire and help us increase our visibility in Rochester, please contact me directly via email by Wednesday, November 13th so we can allocate the remaining passes into the event. Again, remember, you can attend without one of the group passes if you pay the admission price to the event. Please continue to look for additional information!
